Executive Coaching

Executive Coaching sets up a dynamic, collaborative relationship designed to support the client’s development. Coaching is a preferred developmental approach for business owners, executives, directors and managers, and is often used to support strategic organizational change. Coaching efficiently enhances leadership skills. And, by incorporating the values of your organization within the coaching framework, it is possible to effect change across entire divisions, departments and companies.

Assessments and Debrief

Development begins with self-awareness. We recommend taking a series of assessments in advance, so that we have a variety of data points from which to co-create the development plan. We use the Hogan Insights, Development and Leadership Profiles to examine natural tendencies, and discuss how an individual is likely to behave under stress. We also recommend the Thomas-Kilmann conflict mode instrument (TKI), along with a 360 Assessment, to benefit from broader stakeholder feedback. Once the client has taken these assessments, we’re ready to prepare a two-hour debrief session, from which we’ll design a development plan.

Coaching Sessions

Once we’re clear on what direction the coaching will initially take, and what general themes we’ll address, we’ll establish a regular schedule and begin the process. Either (4) one-hour or (2) two-hour monthly sessions are recommended. Using various coaching tools, exercises and techniques, we will get you looking inside, learning, reflecting and taking action.

Each client is unique and there are numerous development themes that emerge. Effective coaching can address many of the themes quickly and efficiently. Others will take more time.

What’s critical, however, is that the development themes come from you. Over the course of our work together (six-months or a year is customary), we’ll cover a lot of ground. And, we’ll monitor and document the development as it occurs.

Confidentiality: Our relationship is completely confidential. We will not be telling anyone you are my client and we will not reveal the contents of our coaching to anyone.

Time: We will begin and end our sessions on time, in honor of our commitment. Each session will be either one or two hours long. Some sessions will run longer, as needed. And, some will end a few minutes early. We’ll make every effort to keep to the schedule, without interrupting the work.

Schedule: If the arrangement calls for in-person meetings, please plan to arrive at my office at the scheduled time. If by phone, please call me at your scheduled time. If you are early, we may be completing another session. Please simply call back in a minute of two. If you need to reschedule, we would appreciate 24 hours notice. We will do all we can to reschedule within the same week. In our busy lives, each of us will occasionally need to move a session. We will extend to you the same courtesy and give you as much advance notice as possible.

Fees: Fees are based on six month and one year engagements.
